Unlike most photographers, I don't have an "I always knew this is what I was meant to do" stories. When I graduated college, I was totally lost career wise. All I wanted to do was go travel the world. My friends and family will never fail to use adventurous as a key word when describing me. I bought a camera to capture all of my experiences, but shortly after, I fell in love with capturing not just places, but people. As a kid, my family and I always would look through old photos albums and watch home videos, and I loved that I could capture those precious, generational moments for others. I started doing weddings, and I realized that my camera and I were next on the alter because it was love at first..... well, you get the picture ;) So, even though it wasn't necessarily always something I wanted to do, when I think back at the signs, it feels kind of like destiny.
The ironic part is, I always hated having my photo taken. I always felt like I was so awkward or that I never knew what to do in front of a camera. But, I think everyone can relate to the feeling of joy you get when you get an AMAZING photo of yourself. How to achieve those photos is the big question and from there, it became a goal of mine to give my clients an experience that was unposed, untraditional, and totally unique to them and their story. Gone are the days of JCPenny family photoshoots (although they make for funny gifts). I want to capture you at your most authentic and real moments because those are normally the moments you look back on and take a step back into the emotion you were feeling.
